TREATMENT: SOLUTION FOCUSED, BRIEF & EFFECTIVE

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR):

  • Reprogram the way in which distressing memories, images and/or events are stored in the brain.
  • Distressing memories and traumatic events can range from medical/ health crisis to high threat military operations.
  • They cause a sense of hyper-vigilance resulting in possible insomnia, isolation and/or an inability to regulate our internal emotions.  We get hijacked by the brain.
  • The desensitization and memory reconsolidation phases of EMDR/ART treatment changes the previously intense physical & emotional reactions that once 'hijacked' us, to a healthier sense of emotional regulation and response.

These techniques move beyond the limitations of traditional talk therapy.  They are working with the wisdom of the body and a deeper level of the unconscious brain.

  • While ART & EMDR are effective as stand-alone treatment techniques, they also bode well for clients working in longer term traditional therapy and feeling as though they have hit a plateau or are 'stuck'.
